sort of; i’m going to try to go to north carolina for my niece’s first birthday in july, and i want to go to chicago at some point this summer with scott. plus there’s weddings and going to visit my parents back in the ‘field so…sort of.
81: will you change your name when you get married?
well that’s assuming i’ll ever get married, which up until recently was never something i really considered. i didn’t grow up wanting to get married or dreaming about my wedding; i’ve never really cared. i still don’t care that much, and i’m undecided on the name change. a part of me says no, i won’t change my identity just for marriage but another part of me reminds me that i’m not close with my dad anyway and i don’t particularly like being associated with him via name since that’s really our only connective thread at the moment…so there’s a good possibility that if i ever get married i would change my name, but only if i feel it’s right and not because i’m supposed to/expected to do so.
